Announcement : Sustainism Code of Conduct Against Greenwashing

(For Partner Acknowledgement and Compliance)

In alignment with its commitment to transparency, credibility, and accountability in sustainability communication and project endorsement, Sustainism requires that all certified partners fully comply with this Code of Conduct. These guidelines aim to prevent greenwashing—the act of misrepresenting sustainability performance—and safeguard public trust in the global mission of sustainable development.

1. Integrity of Certification

Partners must obtain or present valid certification from independent and internationally recognized bodies. Sustainism reserves the right to request documentation and conduct further verification in accordance with global standards.

2. Independent Third-Party Verification

All data, impact reports, and sustainability claims submitted to Sustainism must be verified by independent third parties with appropriate qualifications—such as MASCI or equivalent institutions. This requirement applies from the initial submission through to continuous performance monitoring.

3. Transparency and Accuracy

Partners must ensure that all publicly communicated sustainability information is accurate, current, and not misleading in any form. Any distortion, misstatement, or exaggeration of data, outcomes, or commitments shall be subject to review and may result in withdrawal of recognition.

4. Whistleblower Channel and Protection

Sustainism provides a secure, confidential channel for reporting suspected greenwashing or breaches of ethical conduct. Partners are expected to cooperate in any subsequent investigations and protect individuals who report in good faith.

5. Declaration of Good Faith

Each submission for recognition must be accompanied by a signed declaration affirming the truthfulness and ethical intent of the information provided. This reflects a commitment to uphold honest and responsible communication, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Sustainism’s global integrity framework.
