AI for Sustain : FTI Empowering SMEs to Integrate into Sustainable Global Supply Chains through AI

Under the Climate & Sustainability Capital Forum (CSCAP) convened at the United Nations, which advances the global transition toward Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP), a strategic collaboration has been established between the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and Sustainism Initiatives (stnsm.org) to develop the AI for Sustain programme. This initiative is designed to strengthen the capability of Thai enterprises to participate in global sustainable supply chains through the application of artificial intelligence.

Sustainism (stnsm.org) serves as a collaborative mechanism for sustainable development, supported by AFMA, an intergovernmental organization founded by FAO and UNESCAP. Sustainism works with member countries and private-sector stakeholders across the Asia–Pacific region to align business practices with international ESG norms and sustainable supply chain standards, guided by SDG 17 as the enabler of all SDGs.

This collaboration enables Thai industrial enterprises to apply AI to systematically enhance organizational readiness by

  • Assessing buyer requirements, risk factors, and global trade trends
  • Understanding legal, financial, and accounting requirements related to sustainability and modern export practices
  • Upgrading production and service processes in accordance with SCP and international ESG expectations
  • Able to align existing business operations with sustainability dimensions (ESG)
  • Able to publish basic sustainability disclosures on the company’s website

Furthermore, participating FTI members will be formally listed in the CSCAP Report: Sustainable Trade, Finance, Procurement and Innovation for SCP, published at the United Nations (online edition), and featured on the Sustainable Services & Supply Chain Alliance (SSA) disclosure platform—strengthening credibility, transparency, and global competitiveness for Thai businesses.

In addition, participants who successfully complete the programme and demonstrate the ability to publish sustainability disclosures on their websites will be awarded an official certificate of recognition under the programme.
