Pathways for Participation in Advancing Sustainable Economy and Sustainable Supply Chains
CSCAP – Climate & Sustainability Capital Forum was established through the collaboration between AFMA (Agricultural and Food Marketing Association for Asia and the Pacific) and Sustainism Initiatives (STNSM.org), with the objective of supporting the advancement of sustainable economy and sustainable supply chains across the Asia-Pacific region through the framework of Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP). SCP is recognized as one of the key implementation mechanisms of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in strengthening the linkage between business, investment, trade, and responsible economic development with consideration for social and environmental sustainability.
Within this context, CSCAP at the United Nations Conference Centre (UN ESCAP), Bangkok, has been developed as a sustainability cooperation platform that provides organizations with an opportunity to publicly express sustainability commitments, strengthen sustainability disclosure practices, and connect with regional and international sustainable economy and sustainable supply chain ecosystems. In this context, the concept of “Capital” under CSCAP extends beyond financial capital to also include trust, credibility, recognition from sustainability-oriented buyers and investors, and long-term economic opportunities arising from responsible business conduct and alignment with the future direction of the global economy.
CSCAP therefore serves as a platform connecting sustainability, trade, investment, and global supply chains for organizations seeking to demonstrate their readiness to become part of the future sustainable economy, while contributing to Thailand’s aspiration to strengthen its role as a regional hub for sustainable economy and sustainable supply chain development across the Asia-Pacific region.

Publicly declare sustainability commitments through the organization’s official website
Organizations are encouraged to publicly communicate their commitments relating to Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP), Climate Action, ESG implementation, or broader sustainability approaches through their official websites and communication channels. Such declarations help demonstrate organizational readiness to conduct business responsibly with consideration for economic, social, and environmental sustainability, while strengthening confidence among buyers, investors, and international stakeholders.

Participate in SSA-B Sustainable Impact Chain Recognition under STNSM.org
Organizations may participate in SSA-B Sustainable Impact Chain Recognition under STNSM.org as a voluntary market mechanism designed to support the transition from conventional supply-chain participation toward a more structured Sustainable Impact Chain. The mechanism enables enterprises to disclose sustainability-related information, demonstrate their specific role within a sustainable supply chain, build evidence, engage buyers, and progressively align with the CS Standard Pathway under CSCAP.
SSA-B Sustainable Impact Chain Recognition is intended for organizations that may not yet be ready for full sustainability standard assessment, but wish to begin entering the sustainable market pathway in a credible and responsible manner. Through scoped disclosure and structured recognition, participating organizations can clarify which product, service, project, activity, or supply-chain relationship contributes to sustainability outcomes, while avoiding broad or unsupported claims about the entire company.
Participation may support organizations in strengthening sustainability capabilities, improving supply-chain transparency, and creating clearer conditions for buyer engagement. By organizing information, evidence, and sustainability positioning within the SSA-B framework, enterprises can reduce the Trust Gap between suppliers and buyers. Suppliers are able to demonstrate that they are developing toward sustainability readiness, while buyers gain a clearer basis for identifying supply-chain partners that are taking structured steps toward responsible production, SCP, and future CS Standard readiness.
The public declaration of sustainability-related information through STNSM.org and the SSA-B Sustainable Impact Chain Recognition mechanism under CSCAP may help organizations improve visibility among sustainability-oriented buyers, business partners, investors, public-sector stakeholders, and regional sustainable economy networks. It also enables enterprises to demonstrate their contribution to Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP), responsible sourcing, sustainable procurement, and supply-chain impact development in a manner that is transparent, progressive, and aligned with emerging market expectations.
Importantly, SSA-B Sustainable Impact Chain Recognition is a voluntary development pathway, not verification or certification. Any recognition applies only to the specific disclosed scope, product, service, activity, project, or supply-chain relationship. It should not be interpreted as whole-company certification, regulatory approval, investment endorsement, assurance, or a guarantee of market acceptance.
Its strategic value lies in helping organizations enter the sustainable market pathway from day one, open buyer dialogue, build evidence, strengthen market confidence, and progressively advance from supply-chain participation toward Sustainable Impact Chain readiness and eventual alignment with the CS Standard Pathway under CSCAP.
