The Sustainism Initiative (STNSM), serving as an SDG Custodian Support Mechanism under the intergovernmental framework of the Agricultural and Food Marketing Association for Asia and the Pacific (AFMA) — jointly established by FAO and UN ESCAP — is pleased to announce a Strategic Partnership with the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) under the CSCAP – Climate & Sustainability Capital Forum framework.
This partnership aims to advance sustainable agriculture, aquaculture, and livestock enterprises by building a regional ecosystem that connects sustainable buyers across the Asia-Pacific with sustainable producers and agricultural cooperatives, strengthening inclusive, transparent, and climate-resilient supply chains.
Under this cooperation, BAAC serves as a Sustainable Finance Mechanism, supporting farmers, cooperatives, and agribusinesses through access to green credit, climate finance, and impact investment programs, enabling them to transform toward low-carbon, sustainable production systems.
The partnership will jointly develop regional initiatives to promote sustainable trade and investment in agriculture, enhancing Thailand’s leadership in Sustainable Finance for Food Systems Transformation,
and contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — with SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) serving as the driving framework for all SDGs.
All programs under this collaboration will be presented through the CSCAP Forum
as part of AFMA’s intergovernmental mandate on Sustainable Trade, Finance, and Investment,
in alignment with the United Nations principles of transparency, accountability, and partnership.
